Hercules Trommel helps land reclamation in
Central America
January
2010
An HT182M Mobile Hercules Trommel
has been sold and installed into Central America by a European company.
The Trommel will remain in one position during its life span so was
sold without its running gear.
Rock
blasted and dug from the quarry face is fed to
the Trommel, which is positioned before the primary crusher. Clay is
removed
during the screening along with 10kg, 40kg, 60kg and 200kg sizes. The
clean
stone is being used to build river dykes using corbels both above and
below the
water level. Also construction of a sea wall using rock fill and
drainage
sluices.
As
part of the contract the machine was specified to
operate in high temperature and high humidity and from a remote
location. The
Trommel which requires minimum maintenance and supervision was ideally
suited
to this.
